FAQ
Bitcoin cycle questions, answered
Plain, educational answers to the questions people (and AI assistants) ask most about the Bitcoin cycle. Nothing here is financial advice. The live readings these answers reference are on the homepage; how they're computed is on the methodology page.
Is now a good time to DCA into Bitcoin?
There is no universally good or bad time — that depends on your own situation, and this is not financial advice. What CryptoTIDE does is show the cycle context: historically, a low TIDE score (below ~0.20, the Accumulation zone) has marked deep-value / capitulation conditions, while a high TIDE score (above ~0.80, Euphoria) has marked stretched conditions. The live Absolute TIDE reading provides that context; the DCA model exposes how one normalized weighting rule responds without sizing a reader's capital.
What are the signs of a Bitcoin cycle top?
Historically, tops have clustered when several public indicators run hot at once: a high MVRV Z-Score, NUPL in euphoria (above ~0.75), an extended Mayer Multiple (above ~2.4), a high Puell Multiple, and the Pi Cycle indicator. CryptoTIDE bundles these into the top-risk pressure gauge. No single signal is decisive, and past patterns may not repeat.
What does the Bitcoin Mayer Multiple mean?
The Mayer Multiple is the Bitcoin price divided by its 200-day moving average. Below 1 means price trades below its long-term trend (historically accumulation context); around 2.4 or higher has historically been stretched. It is a trend-extension gauge, not a buy or sell signal.
What is a good MVRV Z-Score to buy Bitcoin?
The MVRV Z-Score compares Bitcoin's market value to its realized value, scaled by volatility. Low or near-zero readings have historically appeared near cycle bottoms, high extremes near tops. There is no guaranteed threshold, and this is not financial advice — CryptoTIDE treats a low MVRV-Z as one of several bottom-context signals, not a standalone trigger.
How long is the Bitcoin cycle?
Bitcoin's market cycle has historically run about four years, anchored to the halving (which cuts new supply roughly every 210,000 blocks, ~every four years). A typical cycle has shown a bottoming/accumulation phase, a post-halving expansion, a euphoric top, and a drawdown. Only a few cycles exist, so timing is approximate.
Is Bitcoin overvalued or undervalued right now?
CryptoTIDE answers this as cycle context, not a verdict: the live TIDE score (0 to 1) blends valuation lenses into a single reading. Below ~0.20 is historically deep-value context; above ~0.80 is historically stretched. See the current reading on the homepage. Educational only.
What is the best Bitcoin cycle indicator?
No single indicator is reliable alone — each one fails in some cycle. CryptoTIDE's approach is confluence: it combines the post-halving clock with on-chain valuation, trend, miner and holder-cost-basis families into the Cycle Compass, plus a separate 0–1 TIDE valuation gauge. Several independent signals together beat trusting any one of MVRV-Z, Mayer, Pi Cycle or NUPL by itself.
Where are we in the Bitcoin cycle right now?
The live answer is on the homepage, updated daily: the TIDE score, the Cycle Compass verdict and a single action band. The cycle position changes over time, so CryptoTIDE reads it from public on-chain and market data every day rather than giving a fixed answer.
